YOUTH PROGRAMMING AT TBI

Temple Beth Israel is strongly committed to our Youth program. We have two successful youth groups.

Our junior youth group addresses 6th-8th graders with social and social action programs designed for the needs of this age group. One of the highlights of the year is the junior youth retreat each fall together with students from Congregation Etz Chaim.

BISTY (Beth Israel Senior Temple Youth) is a strong vibrant group of high school students who engage in varied activities throughout the year including a retreat and the planning and operation of the congregation’s Purim carnival.

Our current youth advisor is Daniel Shore. He welcomes your questions or thoughts. Contact him through the Temple office.

OLIN-SANG-RUBY UNION INSTITUTE

Temple Beth Israel is proud of the congregation’s involvement in Olin Sang Ruby Union Institute, the Reform movement’s summer camp in Oconomowoc Wisconsin. TBI members and Rabbi Ernst M. Lorge were founders of OSRUI and this tradition continues today. TBI members are active in the camp community as Board Members and serve as faculty and camp doctor. Rabbi Michael A. Weinberg is deeply involved in camp programs, especially the Chalutzim Hebrew immersion unit.

TBI wants our children to have the opportunity to experience camp at OSRUI and can help member children become involved through a camp scholarship. Please contact the Temple office for details
