ABOUT BROTHERHOOD

MISSION STATEMENT

TBI Brotherhood enables its members to practice Jewish values.  Members work together on projects inside and outside of the Temple community, and contribute to the fabric of Temple Beth Israel.  The Brotherhood is a place where men can gather and discuss men's issues, share experiences, enjoy each other's company and have fun.

Participation in TBI Brotherhood enables its members to live Jewishly and practice Jewish values. Members pray together, perform charitable deeds inside and outside of the Temple community, and contribute to the fabric of Temple Beth Israel.  As TBI is Bet T’fillah, a House of Worship, the Brotherhood provides for the Kiddush on Friday.  As TBI is a Bet Midrash, a Place of Study , Brotherhood provides prayer books for our B'nai Mitzvah.  As TBI is Bet K’nesset, a Gathering Place, Brotherhood hosts the Temple Picnic, Chanukah party, Purim Carnival, annual Pancake Breakfast, semi-annual Blood Drive, as well as other social programs.

The Brotherhood meets for breakfast and a program the second Sunday morning of most months at 9:00 AM.  Throughout the year, members provide support for one another and the congregation.  Brotherhood supports the full spectrum of Temple activities as participants, event chairs, and all around helpers.  In the process we deepen our friendships, sustain the work of our congregation, and grow as Jews.

Annual Brotherhood dues are $36.00 made payable to TBI Brotherhood.
